Rymill Park has been coming alive every day for the past 28 days but despite the many tents lighting up and performers running amok to entertain audiences of Adelaide and beyond, one particular aspect of Gluttony has been painting the night sky in colours of the Aurora Borealis.

Offering visitors with a slice of the Northern Lights right here in Adelaide, BOREALIS by Dan Acher is an artsy and magical immersive installation that can temporarily transport you to another part of the world, without the stress of travelling overseas. Everyone who walks through and underneath the neon lights (piercing through the fog and haze) can explore this alternate universe that combines a mesmerizing light display and a dreamy soundscape by OXSA that will momentarily make you forget that you're still in the Southern Hemisphere.

With our cityscape acting as a beautiful little backdrop, the visual exhibition uses our night sky and its batty friends to envelop audiences in a multicoloured canvas of artwork. There are vibrant colours that peek through the trees and create a silhouette that instills a sense of eerie calm in the atmosphere.

While this is a fantastic little addition to the dynamic Fringe atmosphere, it would be a lot more appealing if it was offered to audiences with free entry at regular intervals. Given that the lake isn't clear enough to provide a picturesque reflective view, the $10 entry fee does seem a bit sleep, in addition to it being a free events about three years prior along North Terrace. Other than that, it is a gorgeous and relaxing light show that is best enjoyed whilst laying on the grass and watching the light breeze of air that makes the lights do a little dance all over the rainbow spectrum.
