Blanc De Blanc Encore Review
Strut and Fret uncork the roaring 20s in The Spiegeltent at The Garden, filling the void of those two years of missed European holidays. This show is a returning Fringe favourite, but for a long two years, that return was not inevitable. Now that it's back, now that we can cram elbow-to-elbow within the blessed mirror and glass tent, and hoot and laugh and sip champagne, we can finally place that je ne sais quoi, that sensation that we've all been missing since COVID struck but that we could not quite put our finger when we were huddled behind our laptops doom scrolling the daily case numbers.
Blanc De Blanc brings back the joie de vivre, the joy of being alive, of witnessing and interacting with the finest comedic, musical and acrobatic talents from across the globe.
This is a show that can be witnessed from every corner of the tent, but that is especially worth shelling out a little more for the ringside seats; you never know what might pop in your lap or fly in your face. Aerialists whir perilously close to your skull, feathers fly and climaxes erupt.
The grand spectacle is anchored by standout performances by the pole swinging, genital drumming Remi Martin Lenz and the captivating LA burlesque pin-up Skylar Benton, but this show is the full bottle, and every drop is delicious.
