The Empyrean is a dedicated circus venue, with a large stage, audience on three sides, and a high rigging point. It is also a semi-outdoor venue, with open air above the stage, but a canvas roof over the audience. Due to the open air above the stage there is a higher rigging point than is possible in most touring venues, and a large stage suitable for most small-medium circus companies. While there is always a risk of poor weather, Adelaide during Fringe usually offers consistently warm and clear nights, with minimal rain.
