The Birthday Party: A Theatrical Catastrophe

Los Angeles 2014: Oscar-winning director William Friedkin mounts a star-studded new production of Pinter’s play 'The Birthday Party'. Nick Ullett (actor, writer, raconteur and our narrator) is cast as one of the players. The show instantly sells out its first month, but its future is in peril. Lead actor Steven Berkoff loathes the director! Someone gets fired! Someone gets sick! And then others back out...The set is built, the budget is spent, but as the opening gets closer, panic sets in and ego's clash. What will happen? Will it even open?

★★★★ "Ullett recounts in a witty and delightfully honest depiction of what happens when everything starts to go awry. This show will make you laugh, gasp and shake your head in wonder: not to be missed." Edinburgh Guide
