One delusional lunatic and his inanimate best friend push silliness to the limit in this zany enjoyable romp. Sphenn (Nicolas Angelosanto) is facing deportation to Germany and the prospect that a lack of funds will see him leave behind his great love, Lucy, a tatty and tarnished red bicycle from the 1950s. The pair embark on several madcap schemes to get rich quick. The hapless tourist has no discernible ability to earn a living busking but luckily that isn’t true for his alter ego, trained at the prestigious French theatre school of legendary performer Philippe Gaulier, who displays consummate imaginative physical comedy. At times dark and uncomfortable, the action is so fast moving that you never linger on one subject for too long before being whimsically transported to another corner of Sphenn’s madcap imagination. Delightful, engaging and funny, you’ll leave with a smile on your face.
