Late night Fringe shows come with the opportunity for the unexpected, the messy, and the outrageous. Reuben Kaye’s The Kaye Hole is a perfect example of a wild, unpredictable late night show.

 Kicking off just before midnight, The Kaye Hole features Kaye as the master of ceremonies, his house band and a series of guests who are in town for the Fringe. The five acts bring to the stage a mix of stand up comedy, circus, and burlesque.

 The acts are quite compact in terms of time and movement providing for a fast-paced show. The chosen acts played well into the overarching themes of risk and diversity with unique takes on their chosen styles. Each was a great taster to their own shows and productions that are currently running.

 Kaye was high energy and fearless in his role using the freedom of the late night slot for more risqué humour. He flourished in his role as host and casually melded his environment into the comedic moments, such as sound issues and padding becoming its own string of jokes.

 If you’re planning a late night in the city and want to drop in on an insane, hilarious, incredible show full of talented performers then this is definitely one to add to the list. It was a great way to cap off the night while sampling the options available during the Fringe season. The relaxed environment was welcoming and chilled but definitely still one for adults only.
