IV Voyages: The Odyssey Revisited

South Australia
As the second instalment of the IV Print Collective, this exhibition presents new artwork by four local female printmakers. Investigating ancient Greek myths, stories, and visual language from Homer's 'The Odyssey', the artists navigate themes of journey, self-discovery and the representation of women to inform new artworks. Working in a number of different printmaking techniques including linocut, etching, letterpress and screen-print, the artists will also present a series of collaborative works and artist books.

Accepted into the [GRAFTd] exhibition program at Sauerbier House Culture Exchange in the heart of Port Noarlunga, the exhibition will open on the 1st of February 2020, 1.30pm - 4pm.

Presented by: IV: Print Collective

Founded in 2017 by Adelaide based printmakers Hanah Williams, Angelica Harris-Faull, Lucy Timbrell and Nicola Rowlands.

Angelica is completing a PhD at UniSA. Her work currently explores embodiment, the anatomical body, and cultural understandings of contemporary and historical women’s reproductive bodies.

Lucy is inspired by the relationship between humans and nature, examining both the positive and negative impacts that these relationships can have.

Hanah is interested in the characteristics of etching, imperfection and repetition. Her work delves into the realms of dreams, the human condition, and the concept of home.

Nicola's work explores the relationships between her conscious and subconscious realities, creating works on handmade paper as a response to traversing both paths.
