Honey Pot

Honey Pot

Honey Pot is Adelaide Fringe’s International Arts Marketplace that takes place over 4 weeks during the festival.

Who is it for?

Honey Pot is for Artists and Producers that want to present work during Fringe to secure future bookings and extend the life cycle of their work(s). Honey Pot is for presenters and programmers seeking work presented at Fringe to buy and program. New collaborations, works, partners and opportunities are all possible through Honey Pot.

"Honey Pot is the Mothership of industry events for promoters and producers of entertainment across the globe It is what it says in the title, a Honey Pot for people like me to find new artists and shows for my festival, as well as meet other delegates who I can collaborate with in the future." — Tom Oliver, Wynnum Fringe, Queensland.

What does it do?

Accessible for in person or virtual participants. Honey Pot provides services, events and a platform for artists, producers and presenters to connect. We support the professional development of artists, upskill the sector and help to prolong the life-cycle of a show with future touring and work opportunities.

Every year we record hundreds of outcomes worth millions of dollars and track shows being presented around the world through the connections and relationships established through our marketplace.

How we do it?

Honey Pot creates bespoke itineraries for industry – guiding them to the shows that align with their programming interests. We place artists and programmers together through weekly networking and pitching events designed to spark new connections and relationships.

Honey Pot’s digital applications provide all the necessary tools for research and outreach through our AVR:

  • Delegate Finder - Industry directory of hundreds of decision makers
  • Show Finder - Show directory with extensive programming information to assist programming research.
  • Passion Pitch - An opportunity for artists to pitch their work virtually to Honey Pot delegates in snappy 90 second pre-recorded videos.

"The seamless web interface, abundant networking opportunities (with artists, as well as other festival producers) and top-notch staff made Honey Pot an invaluable experience for our new festival." — Cathleen O’Malley, BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival, United States.

"Honey Pot is an amazing opportunity to not only get to know other delegates from all over the world, but also to experience a plethora of performances and events that truly make one’s Fringe experience inspiring." — Andrei Nikolai Pamintuan, Fringe Manila, Philippines.

18 Years of Honey Pot

Adelaide Fringe has been a springboard for artists for over 64 years, but the bespoke marketplace is only 18 years young. In a short space of time, our marketplace has become integral to the sustainability and life cycles of hundreds of artists. Many festivals are a great launch pad for artists but this marketplace offered a matchmaking service to deliver more outcomes.

The Honey Pot program is designed to facilitate the building of long term relationships between participating Fringe artists and arts industry professionals to create opportunities for works to have a life beyond Adelaide Fringe. In 2022, we published a 15 years of Honey Pot booklet, detailing its inception to what it is today.
