Burt in a Skirt - Music of Burt Bacharach

American composer, songwriter and pianist Burt Bacharach, who died at the age of 94 in 2023, is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential figures of 20th Century popular music. Starting in the 1950s, he composed hundreds of songs, many in collaboration with lyricist Hal David.

Kiwi-born vocalist Janine Saundercock leads a five-piece outfit paying tribute to the maestro, with classy classics such as Close to You, I Say a Little Prayer, Always Something There to Remind Me, I'll Never Fall in Love Again, Anyone Who Had a Heart, Do You Know the Way to San Jose and Baby It's You. Included are '60s and '70s hits by Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Sandie Shaw, Cilla Black and Karen Carpenter.

Presented by: BURT IN A SKIRT
