Meet Our 2025 Ambassadors
Michelle Braiser
Revered for her many talents across singing, acting, directing, writing, and of course stand-up comedy, Michelle Brasier embodies all the magic that is Fringe.
“The most important moments of my life have been at the Fringe. It has always been a place for the weird kids to find ourselves, for artists to fall safely amongst each other and emerge a family. I can’t wait for Fringe 2025 and am already so excited about the program and community of artists. It’s an absolute honour!”
Bound for another sell-out season, catch Michelle’s show ‘It’s a Shame We Won’t Be Friends Next Year’ from 4-9 March at Gluttony.
Rhys Nicholson
Multi-award winning comedian Rhys Nicholson is a mainstay of Australian and international stages and television. An Australian performer who’s been doling out their wares in Adelaide for well over a decade, they’re buzzing with delight to be a Fringe Ambassador.
“I’ve always felt the Fringe is such a perfect encapsulation of what we do in Australian performing arts. A purely open festival where as long as you’ve got the gumption, creativity and sunscreen, you can find your audience. I’m just happy to be here.”
‘Rhys Nicholson: Huge Big party Congratulations’ will be at Hindley Street Music Hall for three nights only from 13-15 March.
Nancy Bates
Winner of the Adelaide Fringe Best Live Music Award 2022, Nancy Bates is an accomplished First Nations singer-songwriter and staunch advocate for Human Rights. Returning for 2025, Nancy will launch her new album ‘Share Your Love’, supported by world class musicians over two nights at The Arts Theatre. Nancy worked under the wings of national treasure, Archie Roach, from 2013-2017 and has since dedicated herself to the Songs Inside project where she works with women in prisons, to amplify and centre their voices within a national conversation about incarceration.
"As a 2025 Adelaide Fringe Ambassador I want to champion artists passionately, and remind all South Australians of the important role we play in reflecting our values, fostering connections, and inspiring a better political and social landscape, in the face of conservatism."
‘Nancy Bates & Friends’ will be showing at The Arts Theatre on 6 and 7 March.
Teresa Palmer
Homegrown actress Teresa Palmer is a die-hard Adelaide Fringe fan who never misses a season, and cannot wait to be back with her family to cheer on the talent, share her favourite shows and soak up the colour, energy and joy the festival brings.
“I’m so excited to be an Adelaide Fringe Ambassador! Growing up in SA, the Fringe has always been such a special part of our community—a celebration of art, creativity, and connection that brings people together in the most wonderful way. I've always admired how the Fringe celebrates bold and unique voices, and I’m beyond excited to work with the festival this year to share its extraordinary magic with the world."
Mark Webber, Teresa’s husband, will be performing his show ‘YOU ARE GOING TO DIE’ at Gluttony from 15-16 March.
