Parade Artists

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BEING PART OF THE PARADE!

PLEASE NOTE APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2017 FRINGE PARADE ARE NOW CLOSED. The Parade is now at capacity and unable to take any new registrants. Applications for the 2018 Parade will open in August 2017.

The Fringe Parade provides the perfect vehicle to showcase fringe artists, events and venues in one glittering kaleidoscope of spectacle. It sets the festival’s tone for the following four weeks and five weekends of arts events across the city. This is the opening event of the arts festival season and has developed into an explosive city celebration, driving audiences into theatres, galleries, abandoned halls, big top tents and tiny lane ways to get their art fix.

Please note due to safety concerns, there is strictly limited capacity to participate in this event. To participate you must have confirmation from the Parade Team. Contact the Parade team on 8100 2018 if you are unsure.

ON THE DAY

For all information about the Parade day we hold an Artist Briefing Session. One member from each group is expected to attend this briefing held on Monday 13th February 2017, 7.30pm at The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel. If you are unable to attend this briefing please contact the Parade Team to make alternative arrangements.

All confirmed participants will receive detailed instructions specific to their group. You will receive these instructions one week prior to the parade. If you have not received instructions for your group by Monday 13th February 2017 please contact Jude Henshall immediately.

I'M READY FOR MY CLOSE UP…

The Adelaide Fringe is excited to announce that for the first time in Parade history, there will be a live broadcast of the parade streamed through Channel 44’s (C44) website, mobile device or smart TV app! (www.c44.com.au).

The broadcast is designed to provide you with greater exposure for your fringe show/event/venue. Not only will you be seen by 65,000+ audience members at the Parade, you will now have the chance to be seen by C44’s 1.4 million viewers around the nation. The broadcast will be hosted by an Adelaide Fringe favourite, with closed captions by Auslan Connections and Audio Description by Access2Arts.C44 will further provide language translation options of the audio description broadcast into Greek, Italian, and Arabic for on demand viewing through their website after the parade.

Super exciting, right? Your involvement in the parade will now be viewed by people around the world! Now everyone from festival producers, regional presenters to your mum can see you strutting your stuff down the parade route.

Now the serious stuff…

As the Adelaide Fringe Parade takes place in a public space, this grants Adelaide Fringe and Channel 44 the right to:

  • Record your group, including the performance of their music and Third Party music, in conjunction with the Fringe Parade & pre-Parade entertainment;
  • Broadcast this recording through C44.com.au;
  • Edit and reproduce the recording as part of the ‘On Demand Program’;
  • Edit and reproduce the Recording in the future for promotional materials relating to the Adelaide Fringe.

Is someone in your group camera shy?

Please pass the information above on to everyone in your group participating in the parade. If there are one or more members of your group who would not like to be filmed, please let us know and we will discuss alternatives with you. If we do not hear from you, we will assume your group is happy with being filmed.

Does your group involve people under the age of 18?

If your group includes minors under the age of 18, Adelaide Fringe needs the key contact for your group to ensure the parents or guardians of all minors have been notified regarding the broadcast and grant permission for their child to be filmed. Please contact georgi@adelaidefringe.com.au to discuss this in more detail.

Do you have any questions about the broadcast? Please call us on 8100 2018 at any time.
