REPORTS TO:                         Head of Production
SALARY:                                 $57,000 - 60,000 per annum (pro rata), plus 9.5% superannuation 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fringe Club Venue Manager is a key member of the Adelaide Fringe team, working in collaboration with Fringe departments as a key source of communication in the smooth running of Fringe managed events inside the club. This role brings together communications from the Production Coordinator and Fringe Club Coordinator (Artists Venues and Events Team) ensuring the provision of adequate technical equipment and general logistics required for the delivery of its commitment to Artist and Venue Services (FringeWORKS), Industry and Marketplace Events (Honeypot), Business Development (hospitality events), nightly programming and other one-off events. This is a hands on role managing requirements and leading communication streams across the departments, and Crown and Anchor Pty Ltd. the venue.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In consultation with the Fringe Club Coordinator and Fringe Club Production Coordinator, be responsible for the delivery of planning and delivery of Fringe managed events at the Club inclusive of FringeWORKS daytime program, Hospitality and nightly programming
  • Liaise with Fringe Club Venue staff, Fringe Club Production Coordinator, Fringe Club Coordinator (Artists and Events) and Business Development Event Coordinator to scope technical and logistical additional requirements to meet the changing needs of the venue
  • Be the first port of call for all Fringe Club daytime activity, programming and hospitality staff
  • In collaboration with the Production Logistics Coordinator, turn around provision of equipment and artistic programming requirements for a constantly changing line up of outcomes, including but not limited to daily FringeWORKS, Hospitality and late night programming requests
  • Assist with the delivery of programming and events at the Club to a consistently high professional standard
  • In consultation with the Fringe Club Production Coordinator and Production Logistics Coordinator meet roster requirements
  • Devise and implement a Fringe Club communication strategy between all Fringe Club internal liaison staff as outlined above
  • Develop, distribute and update daily venue run sheets
  • Disseminate communications and requests to appropriate Fringe and Venue personnel including running a daily operations briefing for all key staff
  • Read nightly reports and action items including hire of equipment, and troubleshooting problems that need immediate solutions for incumbent nightly crew
  • Manage the Day to Day relationship with the Venue and venue staff
  • Support the delivery of Fringe Club programming
  • Monitor and report on patron and performer well-being and safety at the Fringe Club
  • Ensure the space remains exclusively to Fringe Club pass holders during the day, prior to the arrival of security on-site and offer directional concierge support as required when multiple events are taking place at one time
  • Provide input into existing risk management strategies at the Club
  • Understand and comply with all Adelaide Fringe policies and procedures
  • Observe and follow all Work, Health and Safety regulations, safe working practices and safe operating procedures

  • Offer daytime support to FringeWORKS including set up and maintenance of technical requirements for daytime program
  • Update and distribute the daily venue run sheets
  • Maintain a positive environment by being generally helpful and supportive
  • Ensure the space remains exclusive during the day prior to security arriving and offer directional concierge support when multiple events are taking place at one time
SELECTION CRITERIA 
  • Demonstrated experience in working in festivals, arts and/or a related industry
  • Previous working knowledge and experience working in an arts organisation and/or working with artists
  • Event management and experience of arts management and working knowledge of technical theatre production
  • Managing staff and delegating of responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate, negotiate and develop relationships with a broad range of people, both internal and external to the organisation, in a professional and ethical manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolutions
  • Demonstrated experience in working within defined budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to time manage and delegate tasks
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to set and meet deadlines in a multi-faceted environment
