Yarnin Pangari (Talking Spirit) Festival

South Australia • Adelaide Fringe Premiere

Join world renowned performer and cultural ambassador Ngarrindjeri Elder Major "Moogy" Sumner for a unique festival of sharing culture and healing the spirit in the gorgeous natural surrounds of Belair National Park (main oval and pavillion). Following a smoking ceremony, the day will consist of inspiring and interactive dance performances; workshops (weaving, painting, wood carving, boomerang and spear throwing); storytelling and yarnin circles. The Festival will conclude with a special sunset corroberee, which everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in for. 

There will be market stalls and food vans at the festival. People are encouraged to bring their own chair, blanket, picnic food/ snacks, drinks etc. All welcome, this is a family friendly event *** alcohol free event***.

Major "Moogy" Sumner is a world renowned performer and cultural ambassador of Ngarrindjeri arts, crafts, martial arts and traditional culture. He wants to show to the Australian people that Aboriginal culture is about sharing and working together for the benefit of the whole community and for Country. Tal-Kin-Jeri Dance Group was founded in 1997 by Major Sumner and Loretta Sumner to showcase Aboriginal dance, stories, music, art, language and culture.
