'Awkward goodbyes!'

A solo, Verbatim piece which delves into the the uncomfortable, awkward (and slightly odd) moments that everyday people have either experienced in the past, dread dealing with in the future or struggle with on the daily. How do we cope with the cringe-worthy moments we humans must constantly endure?

This show is an exploration of personae; how we present ourselves, how others see us and what's really going on underneath.
Based on one to one interviews and layered with story-telling, physical theatre and music, Carolyn reminds herself and the audience that we are not alone in our weird and wacky ways.

Presented by: Carolyn Dawes

Carolyn has been acting, directing and making theatre in the Melbourne independent scene for the last two years.

'Choice' (Nov 2016); Creator and Director of a verbatim ensemble piece based on the taboo subject of abortion with the goal to remove the stigma surrounding it. Lastly, 'Int.' (March 2017) a solo, physical theatre piece co-created to present the inner monologues of an oppressed female, leaving audience members feeling very moved, but also empowered. Carolyn's interests lie in the subconscious, the unheard, and she strives to give a voice to those who want to speak out.
