Take an intoxicating journey through the exotic sights and sounds of Cuba and Brazil, with The Dance Pad’s latest production Turn the Beat Around.

The rhythmic Brazilian beats and colourful costumes of Samba, combined with the energy and spontaneity of street style Cuban dance makes for a unique and energetic fusion that’s not easy to forget.

Under the creative direction of one of Adelaide’s most accomplished performers and choreographers, Emma Dawson, Turn the Beat Around will take you on a rhythmical journey, where you’ll discover the roots of African music in the most entertaining and energetic way possible.

You’ll be treated to spectacular costume changes, unbelievable on-stage chemistry and deep, expressive undertones that will pulsate through your body, and leave a mark that will stay with you long after you leave your seat.

The inspiration for the show stems from talented powerhouse Gloria Estefan. With sales of more than 100 million albums, Estefan is considered one of the most successful crossover artists in Latin music history. TDP Productions taps into her influence, incorporating spirited choreography and authentic sounds to their latest production, bringing Esfetan’s rich understanding of ‘Mother Africa’ to Adelaide.

The all-star line-up includes lead dancer, Piter Pantoja Lopez (Cuba), who heats up the stage alongside the talented Gianne Abbott (Brazil).

The powerful voice of Diana Scalzi will be backed up with the legendary Cuban band ‘Sabor a Cuba’, all working under the talented guidance of Musical Director, Lazaro Numa Pompa.

The international stars bring with them an energy and enthusiasm that is rich in culture and influence. They’ll partner with 20 talented local TDP Production dancers, whose energy transcends the stage in the most palpable and powerful way possible. Between them, it's passion that must be seen and heard to truly be understood.
