Oranges and Lennons: John Lennon Tribute Show

Music • Contemporary

ORANGES AND LENNONS is the story of John Lennon in song.

After great reviews and a sellout performance at 2016 Fringe this extended show covers the period during and after the Beatles, together with songs that influenced Lennon's writing and performing, and those written by the band's front man, Gary Burrows.

His friendship with John and Yoko's peace ambassador, Rickie Yorke, and the amusing revelation that he was related to the Lennons convinced Gary that this concert was a fitting tribute to John's legacy.

The superb "Oranges and Lennons" band consists of: Gary Burrows (guitar/vocals) Rob Pippan (lead guitar/acoustic guitar), Matt McNamee (drums), John Bywaters (bass), Dave Ross (keyboards/guitar), Nanette van Ruiten (vocals) and Deb Brunotte (vocals).

You are ensured a night of "Lennon" nostalgia with the music that captured everyone's hearts. Don't miss this celebration of John Lennon's work.

Presented by: Gary Burrows

Music has been Gary Burrow’s life – he toured Australia as a drummer/singer/songwriter with Brass Carnival and later on The Boys. Songs that he wrote during that period ‘One Little Kiss’ and ‘Who Was That?’ made the local top ten charts here in Adelaide whilst his ‘Peter Motley’ song reached No. 3 and stayed in the national charts for weeks. Gary’s current band “The Rustlers” are sought after throughout South Australia. Swapping the drums for his trusty Rickenbacker guitar, Gary and the band perform four albums of original music along with a collection of appropriate 60s songs to provide pulsating sets of their own style of “beat” music.

Gary has been inducted into the South Australian Country Music “Hands/Hall of Fame” and recently into the South Australian Music Hall of Fame for his 30 years of work with APRA. His dedication to the music industry as a songwriter/performer and supporter of original music over many more years.
