Lawson in the Outback - John Schumann & The Vagabond Crew
“Henry Lawson found our voice and showed us how to listen to it.”
Honouring one of Australia’s most important literary figures, John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew perform “Lawson in the Outback”.
In the stunning Flinders Ranges, under the star-studded Parachilna sky, this one-off concert reprises their celebrated 2022 Adelaide Festival Theatre performance marking the 100th anniversary of Henry Lawson’s death.
Much of Lawson’s verse, laced with pathos and a fierce sense of justice, remains as relevant today as when he wrote it. John Schumann’s 2005 album, “Lawson”, is widely acclaimed as the finest musical interpretation of Lawson’s poems.
Narrated by acclaimed South Australian actor, Celine O’Leary, this concert performance of “Lawson in the Outback” is not to be missed.
