Zkye's interest in Blues and jazz started at 12 years old with a family friend introducing her to Billie Holiday. From there, Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie, Sippie Wallace, Dorothy Moore, Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner were all high in Zkye's musical diet.
Since those early days Zkye, with her band Zkye Blue have received numerous accolades and awards in the blues & roots domain, and performed to enthralled crowds at shows and festivals

This year we are presenting Adelaide's own Zkye crompton Harris in an intimate night with her and Damo, her musician and partner while she sings some of the best known blues songs, and takes us on a journey of blues through time. Zkye has traveled through the Delta belt of America and has performed throughout Louisiana and Memphis where she received many accolades for her talent. Her voice can take you on the same journey as the singers she channels and what better way to loose yourself than down under, on the balcony under the stars this fringe.
