From the moment he developed his popular style of ethnic comedy in 1985, George Kapiniaris became one of the pioneers of Ethnic Humour in this Australia.
He has had an extensive career spanning 35 years with roles such as ‘DJ’ in The Flying Doctors, ‘Memo’ in Acropolis Now as well as a starring role in the hugely popular stage show 'Wogs Out Of Work'.
George Kapiniaris calls his biography a ‘bi-wography’ and herein lies a valuable contribution to multi-cultural society.With a handful of other comedians in the 1980’s, he introduced the Australian audience to the concept of "wog humour" by taking offensive stereotypes, turning them inside-out and laughing at them. This generation transformed the term "wog" from an insult into an endearment.
