About this event

Artificial Intelligence is on the way, and it will be powerful. What happens to us when it arrives? How will it perceive humanity? Can it learn ... to love? After getting hit on by a chatbot, one horny science fiction nerd is on a quest to make it with a new AI overlord.

Adelaide Fringe Festival reviewers gave Effing Robots four stars: they called the show "a one-woman show that is part girly-chat, part TED talk," "geeky, funny and thought-provoking," with "Cabe [as] a knowledgeable and passionate navigator into what is sometimes a murky, unsettling world," gently leading the audience "on a romp through time
and cyberspace."

As recommended by King's River Life in Fresno, California: "It's a Brave New World out there. Don't be timid.

Created and performed by Nicol Cabe.

L. Nicol Cabe works in two mediums: science fiction / speculative storytelling, and theatre production.

Based in Seattle, Washington, USA, she writes and performs speculative fiction story-telling shows, directs new plays, and helps playwrights develop their work.

An award-winning solo performer, she travels the world with her speculative writing. Being primarily dystopian, she plays characters onstage who live in these worlds, which have collapsed, changed, warped, or evolved through human decisions.
