Brown Cissy Boy

• Drag
South Australia • Adelaide Fringe Premiere

The creation story of Kween Kong, a fly-on-the-wall glimpse into a day of the life of queer Polynesian, shapeshifting, superhero. Fusing their involuntary superpowers of interpretive dance, shady sarcasm and delusional beauty to unpack vintage Louis Vuitton bags of the past artistically. Highly dramatic, extremely slap stick and drag stunts galore.

‘Brown Cissy Boy’, the first sketch of a physical-theatre work which explores the emotional limitations of gender roles inherited by western patriarchy. Perhaps if tearful boys were comforted instead of shamed, there wouldn’t be so many angry men struggling to empathize with emotions.

Please Note: This event has had a time and date change, and changed venue from 'Wonderland Festival Hub - Hindmarsh Square' to 'Arts Theatre' since the Adelaide Fringe Guide was printed.
