Busking During Adelaide Fringe
Adelaide Fringe provides a great opportunity for the busking community to showcase their talents. To support the valuable contribution buskers make towards the activation and vibrancy of our City during this time Adelaide Fringe has teamed up with Adelaide City Council to identify some prime locations for buskers.
For registered Fringe Artists, we know from previous years that demand for busking spots and flyering areas is high during Fringe time, so from 8:30pm each night registered Fringe Artists can flyer and busk along the Parade of Light on North Terrace. This is the dedicated area for you to engage with and interact audiences to promote your show. The Parade of Light will be an animated, vibrant, bustling corridor of excitement which will attract a lot of people before and after Fringe shows – it will be the perfect zone for flyering and busking. For those who have been to Edinburgh we are hoping to create our version of a Royal Mile by night – full of people who want to know more from Fringe artists about their shows! Busking in this area is for registered Fringe Artists only.
Please note: busking along the Parade of Light is not permitted on the Opening Night Street Party on Friday 16 February (Fringe Artists were invited to sign up for a Opening Night Street Party performance spot in January and all are now full) but you are welcome to come down and flyer at the Opening Night Street Party.
Rundle Street will be closed every weekend during the Fringe. This year there will be three busking locations in the East End during the road closures. Two locations have been identified for 45min circle acts, and one location for a small 20min magic/music style show.
- These two pitches are located outside 245 Rundle Street (near the Exeter Hotel) and outside of Gluttony (South Eastern cnr of intersection Rundle St/Rundle Road).
- There will be a draw held each day of the road closure at 4pm outside the entrance to Gluttony in Rymill park. The result of this draw will determine the busking program at each pitch for the night ahead.
- These locations will be marked with chalkboard A-frames
- Circle acts are to be 45 mins including set-up and pack down
- This pitch is located outside 269 Rundle Street.
- This pitch may be one hour including set-up and pack down
- These shows are to keep their crowds small to avoid disruption to pedestrian thoroughfare
For any queries regarding busking during the road closures, please see Idris Stanton outside Gluttony at the 4pm draw.
You can also find out about the Rundle Mall Busking Pitches here.
For alternative busking locations throughout the city please head to the Adelaide City Council for locations and to apply for a FREE busking permit.
Please note that Gouger St, Leigh St & Peel St are busy restaurant precincts and can be great places to busk. The western end of North Terrace is also busy with the Railway Station and many new University and other buildings.

BankSA's Fringe Corner - Cnr East Tce and Rundle St
Outside the Adelaide Fringe Box Office, the East End Fringe corner is a hub of activity each night of the festival making it an ideal location for flyering. Flyering etiquette suggests that you do not flyer the box office queue, and hand to hand flyering only, no paper drops.

The Fringe In Rundle Mall Stage
Showcase a snippet of your show to the audiences in Rundle Mall on our Fringe In Rundle Mall Stage. You can then flyer the crowd after your spot. We will also have volunteers to flyer for you during your spot. To book a timeslot please contact email@example.com
Please note flyering elsewhere at any other time in Rundle Mall is strictly prohibited, including at the Adelaide Fringe Box Office.
Adelaide’s busiest dining strips are Gouger St & Rundle St and popular bar districts are Leigh St & Peel St which can be excellent spaces to flyer.
