Annual Review 2019

2019 was our biggest and best year yet! We want to extend a massive thank you to our artists, venues, volunteers, partners, board members, staff and every single one of you who attended Adelaide Fringe for making 2019 as truly spectacular as it was. 

Last year, Adelaide Fringe increased tourist attendance by a whopping 72%! This lead to an overall visitor-related expenditure increase of 24% to $36.6 million and a total of 150,257 visitor bed nights being generated by the interstate/international audiences and artists who came to visit Fringe (an increase of 53% per cent). 

It was another huge year for general attendance as well. An estimated 3.3 million people attended Fringe in 2019 (up 23%), which lead to box office revenue of $19.5 million.

In total, we sold 828,563 tickets (up 17%) and we had more than 7000 artists, 1326 events and 517 venues. On top of this, 457 shows and 256 delegates from 26 countries participated in the Honey Pot arts marketplace! This generated future bookings and touring opportunities for artists worth over $3 million.

Adelaide Fringe 2019 generated $95 million in expenditure for the state economy.
