What if you moved abroad to find 'The One', only to find out you are one of many?

Raw, heartfelt and hilarious; award-winning singer-songwriter Gene Phoa premieres his acoustic rom-com on warming up to the cold hard truth.

An icy international tale of romance, revenge and redemption, Gene's songs and stories remind us that it's the bitter that makes the sweet!

Inspired by a student exchange semester in Scandinavia and the feature-length film, '500 Days of Summer', come on a trip through the complexities of love and discover how to avoid being left out in the cold.

Gene Phoa is an emerging Adelaide-born singer-songwriter.

Classically trained in piano and self-taught in guitar, Gene spent most of his life searching for where he fit in. Eventually quitting his job and cramming his life into a backpack to travel the world, an open mic night in India made him realise that what he was searching for was within him all along.

Since then, Gene has performed at over 200 events and his original song “Folklore War” won the lyrics category at the 2019 SCALA Festival of Original Music.

Pairing a luminous voice with infectious hooks and intimate storytelling, '500 Nights of Winter' marks the first chapter of Gene's artistic journey and will give audiences a sneak peak into the inspiration behind and music within his forthcoming debut album.
