Fringe It Live Grants Announced

Adelaide Fringe, in partnership with the South Australian Music Development Office, is excited to announce a new grant program, injecting $50,000 into the South Australian live music scene. This funding initiative aims to support small to medium independent live music venues during the 2024 season of Adelaide Fringe.

Grant Program Overview:
  • Funding source: The $50,000 grant pool is generously provided by the Music Development Office
  • Purpose: This funding is dedicated to supporting owner-operated, small-to-medium venues that primarily focus on the development and staging of original live music
  • Grant value: Eligible venues and events can receive grants up to $2,500.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Who can apply? Live music operators and event presenters
  • Venue type: Independent, small to medium South Australian live music venues
  • Physical presence: Only events within brick and mortar venues that operate year-round are eligible
  • Geographical reach: The grant is open to live music venues and events across South Australia, including those in metropolitan, regional, and remote areas
  • Adelaide Fringe registration: Venues and events must be registered to participate in Adelaide Fringe 2024 to receive this support. Registrations must be completed before the transfer of funds to successful applicants.

Director and CEO of Adelaide Fringe Heather Croall said, “Funding initiatives like this are not only an excellent investment in local business and the arts, but an investment in the South Australian economy, in 2023 Adelaide Fringe was directly responsible for injecting more than $100 million into South Australia and initiatives like this illustrate an excellent return on investment in this regard.”

Grant applications close Monday 22 January.
