What is the Adelaide Fringe?
The Adelaide Fringe is an annual open access multi arts festival, which takes place over three weeks all over Adelaide.

When is the Fringe?
Previously every two years to coincide with the Adelaide Festival of Arts, it is now held annually for 3 weeks around February and March. In 2009, the festival runs from Friday 27 February to Sunday 22 March. To check out future Adelaide Fringe dates, click here.

Are there any free events?
Yes! There is literally something for everyone at the Fringe including plenty of free events. When the Fringe Guide comes out in January of each year, check the first few pages for details of the free Opening Night Street Party, Fringe Family Weekend and heaps more!

Where does the Fringe take place?
The Fringe happens all over Adelaide. Traditionally centred on the East and West Ends of the CBD, there are venues spread throughout the city and suburbs. With events happening everywhere from Macclesfield to Murray Bridge, from Mawson Lakes to Port Augusta,  Norwood and Hindmarsh, the Fringe is happening everywhere!

What are Fringe Managed Events?
These are the events that the Adelaide Fringe has organised such as the Opening Night Party and Fringe Family Weekend, to help create a carnival atmosphere in Adelaide during the Fringe. Lots of them are free so gather a bunch of your friends and get along.

Does the Fringe need Volunteers?
In three words yes, yes and YES! The Fringe simply couldn’t survive without the many volunteers who work tirelessly to help us put on this amazing event. Register your interest here
